Oh, what a year!
So much to share from an eventful year

As 2023 comes to a close, we are incredibly grateful for the passing year! In addition to welcoming so many to our ever-growing client family, we have many reasons to celebrate the last 12 months. Here are the highlights:

  • We opened our new (fabulous) office
If you’ve visited the office this year, you’ve already seen our beautiful new suite! As you can imagine, moving was no simple process. Moving up (literally two floors up in the same building) took many months of planning, much of which took place amid pandemic-driven materials and resource shortages. We were all thrilled to officially make Suite 880 our new home on April 24. Since then, we’ve been basking in the new space, the fabulous view, and the ability to extend an open invitation to visit at any time. Whenever you can stop by, our doors are always open!
  • Avery became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER
Of course, even the most gorgeous office space is only as valuable as the people that work within it. Here, too, we completed some wonderful ‘upgrades.’ Soon after taking on a new role as Investment Advisor at the firm, Avery became a CFP® professional—a certification often considered the ‘gold standard’ for financial planners. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, Avery has completed rigorous coursework and examinations with a focus on ethics and the full spectrum of financial planning topics, including retirement planning, investing, insurance, income tax, and estate planning. While he added some impressive initials after his title, what matters most is a new depth of knowledge and insights contributes to every client conversation.
  • Eric joined our team
Further bolstering our collective expertise, Eric joined the team in October as our new Investment Analyst. Eric’s years of experience in private wealth and portfolio construction, along with his strong investment background (he holds Series 3, 66 & 7 securities/advisory licenses and is currently preparing for the CFA Level II exam), made him an ideal fit for our growing team. You can read more about Eric (and his beloved four-legged companion, Charlie!) in our newsletter here.
  • Patrick wrote a book on alternative investments
We are happy to share the news that we have a new book on its way! Most of you are familiar with Gideon’s book Giving: A Handbook to Happiness for the Modern Philanthropist that was published in late 2021. This year, we’re expanding our firm ‘library’ with the addition of a new book, The Leisure Capital Guide to Alternative Investments, by Patrick Maxwell. Written to give our clients the opportunity to expand your knowledge of investing by diving deeper into the unique world of alternative investments, the book offers a clear definition of what alternatives are, how we use them at Leisure Capital, and how they can add value to your portfolio. Watch for the official release in the coming weeks!
  • We were named one of America’s Top RIAs
Such growth and momentum paved the way for new accolades that we are incredibly honored to have received. For the first time in our history, in August, Leisure Capital was ranked among the nation’s top RIAs (Registered Investment Advisors) in the category of ‘$500 million to <$1 billion’ in assets under management. The recognition was especially notable as, unlike many other firms, our growth has been 100% organic (in other words, we did not acquire another firm to extend our assets) and was achieved with an uncompromising focus on our clients. Read more about our inclusion in the list of America’s Top RIAs here.
  • We made the Forbes list!
Then, in October, we learned that we were included in Forbes magazine’s annual ranking of Top RIA firms—another wonderful first! And though these rankings among our professional peers are great to see, what matters most is that we would not be here without you, our clients. It is thanks to your continued faith in our team and commitment to growing your wealth that we have been able to climb to these new heights.

Almost unbelievably (oh, how time flies!), 2024 will mark our 22nd year together as a team. Though much has changed in all those years, one thing that has always remained constant—and we promise always will—is our commitment to you, our client family. We look forward to new growth to come and to continuing to be here as your trusted partners. Thank you for helping us make 2023 a year for the record books! We hope you have a marvelous holiday season and a happy, prosperous New Year!
